3rd CIC comes to a close

In it's first year under the new 5v5 format, the CIC saw plenty of goals (371 scored in total), some great saves and lots of action in a fun filled weekend.

In the Women's division, the Toronto Toros 'A' team were able to reclaim the title they won in the 1st CIC, by beating the youthful and talented Xcalibur Gryphons 7-3. Despite a tight start to the game, the experienced Toros took advantage of a few Gryphons' defensive lapses to take the lead, and they never looked back.

Both teams charged into the finals with identical undefeated records, and boasting the most goals in the Women's Division. This was the first finals appearance for Gryphons who finished 3rd in the two previous Indoor Classic tournaments, and the 3rd final's appearance for the Toros team.

In the Men's division, the Toronto Lions successfully defended their title, beating first-time finalists OKD 7-1. Despite the scoreline, the game was played at a very fast pace and tightly contested by both teams. After a physical start to a very competitive game, the Lions, lead by tournament MVP Devohn Texeira played strong team defence, while some scoring highlight reel goals; despite the best efforts of National team Legend Ken Pereira, and the youthful OKD team.

Congrats to the Toronto Lions & Toronto Toros 'A', this year's Canadian Indoor Classic Champions!
